Projects: 6th Grade Loudoun County History

Last year, my class did a history project where you had to visit 12 historical places in Loudoun County. You had to visit a place, take pictures, take videos, write questions, and write a journal entry.

This Summer!

This summer is going to be amazing! We are going on a cruise to the Caribbean and we are going to the beach.

Here is the top ten things that I liked about the 2013-14 school year. It was sixth grade and it was awesome.

10. The Aquaduct (I will ride it at least once :) )

  9. Deck 4 (Running early in the morning)

  8. Being able to wander the boat by myself (First time doing that)

  7. Dressing up (I got new dresses)

  6. The water trampolines (part of one of our port adventures)

  5. Walking through the mickey ears (that is how you get onto the boat)

  4. The Rose Hall Hilton (It has a swim up bar and lazy river)

  3. The dinners (The food is amazing)

  2. The family game shows (We won some of them last time we went on the cruise)

  1. The Edge (This teen club looks really cool)

Day 3 and Day 4: Casa Batllo, Sagrada Familia, Art Museum, and Montjuic Castle!

The past two days have been absolutely amazing!

Yesterday we got on the metro and rode to Passage de Gracia. That is a road with some cool houses with some different architecture. The house we saw was Casa Batllo. It was a house made by Antoni Gaudí.

After we had lunch, we headed to Sagrada Familia. That is a big church that is still in construction. On Saturday we are going to go in it, but we just went to see it yesterday.

Today we went to Montjuic.We went up to the art museum. There were a lot of stairs that you had to climb up to get to the museum since it was on a mountain. So.....what is the solution.........escalators! There were escalators outside, so you didn't have to climb all the stairs. After about two hours in the museum, we decided to have lunch at a cafe and start walking to our next stop.

Our next stop was the Montjuic Castle. You either could walk about a mile uphill or take a tram up. We walked up because we did not realize how much it was. We walked wrong ways and took breaks, but we finally made it. Once we did, it was beautiful. great views, amazing pictures, and beautiful castles. It has been one of my favorite things of this trip.

Day 2: 1st full day and Gothic Quarter

This morning we woke up and had room service breakfast. My mom headed out to the conference she is going to. My dad, sister, and I stayed in our hotel room. We planned our day. At about ten in the morning, we headed out. We went to the Gothic Quarter and took the metro there.

First we went to the cathedral. It was really pretty on the inside and on the outside.

After that we went around the church and found a couple other buildings.

We went to the boqueria after that. It was a market.

When we were done there we went to La Rambla. It was a street filled with vendors.

Then we got on the metro and went to another park. 

Finally we got on the metro and came back to the hotel. We had dinner at the mall.

We are here!

After about 10 hours on a plane, and a hour in between, we finally made it to Barcelona! We got here at about 2:30 Barcelona time ( 5 hours ahead of the U.S.). My family and I went to the mall right across the street and had dinner. I had my first tapas. Tapas are a piece of bread with whatever you want on it.

After that we went down to the beach. My dad and I went down to the beach while my sister and mom stayed up by the wall. I got too step foot in the Mediterranean Sea!

After that, we went back to the mall and got some snacks at the grocery store.

Now we are back in our hotel room getting ready for bed. Tomorrow we will be going places!

Little Mermaid...to the Airport...and Now Waiting!

The Little Mermaid is done. I loved every minute of it. The costumes, the people, the set, the performing, the singing, the dancing..... I loved it all! I'm very sad that it is done, but at least there is something else I can do! Go to Spain!

After our last performance of the Little Mermaid, we were in a hurry to get to the airport. We went straight to take our makeup off, then we took our costumes off. My mom, my sister, and I came home to do our last minute packing. Then we were off.

We got to the airport, and checked our bags.We got through security and headed down to our gate. Now we are here waiting to board the plane . I can't wait!!

Looking foward to Spain!

I am really looking forward to Spain! I can't wait to see all the architecture. Also, I can't wait to use some Spanish. The parks and stores will be fun too!
