Day 2: 1st full day and Gothic Quarter

This morning we woke up and had room service breakfast. My mom headed out to the conference she is going to. My dad, sister, and I stayed in our hotel room. We planned our day. At about ten in the morning, we headed out. We went to the Gothic Quarter and took the metro there.

First we went to the cathedral. It was really pretty on the inside and on the outside.

After that we went around the church and found a couple other buildings.

We went to the boqueria after that. It was a market.

When we were done there we went to La Rambla. It was a street filled with vendors.

Then we got on the metro and went to another park. 

Finally we got on the metro and came back to the hotel. We had dinner at the mall.

We are here!

After about 10 hours on a plane, and a hour in between, we finally made it to Barcelona! We got here at about 2:30 Barcelona time ( 5 hours ahead of the U.S.). My family and I went to the mall right across the street and had dinner. I had my first tapas. Tapas are a piece of bread with whatever you want on it.

After that we went down to the beach. My dad and I went down to the beach while my sister and mom stayed up by the wall. I got too step foot in the Mediterranean Sea!

After that, we went back to the mall and got some snacks at the grocery store.

Now we are back in our hotel room getting ready for bed. Tomorrow we will be going places!

Little Mermaid...to the Airport...and Now Waiting!

The Little Mermaid is done. I loved every minute of it. The costumes, the people, the set, the performing, the singing, the dancing..... I loved it all! I'm very sad that it is done, but at least there is something else I can do! Go to Spain!

After our last performance of the Little Mermaid, we were in a hurry to get to the airport. We went straight to take our makeup off, then we took our costumes off. My mom, my sister, and I came home to do our last minute packing. Then we were off.

We got to the airport, and checked our bags.We got through security and headed down to our gate. Now we are here waiting to board the plane . I can't wait!!

Looking foward to Spain!

I am really looking forward to Spain! I can't wait to see all the architecture. Also, I can't wait to use some Spanish. The parks and stores will be fun too!

Divergent by Veronica Roth
Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library by Chris Grabenstein

Divergent is my favorite books of all time! It is about a girl who is Divergent but goes to a different faction. (A  faction is like a group of people with the same personalities. ) There, she learns to be brave and how to defend herself. After a while many things happen and she starts to regret her life-changing decision. Until one day, everything changes.

It left me wanting to know what happened next. Once you start reading, you can't put it down!

I can't wait for the movie to come out in March!

Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library is another very good book.

If you ever read The Gollywhopper Games by Jody Feldman, it is exactly like that.

Twelve 12-year-olds wrote essays about a public library for a contest. The prize for them was getting to stay in the new public library in their town before it opened. They had to solve a crazy puzzle to see how to get out of the library. The kid who got out of the library first got to be in commercials about the designer of the library, Mr. Lemoncello.

It is very fun to read, because it shows you the puzzles that the kids had to do, so you can do them to.

One of the Best Books I Have Ever Read!

One for the Murphys by Lynda Mullaly Hunt

One for the Murphys is a really good book.

It is about a girl who had a stepfather that abused her and her mother. One time he hit her and her mom so hard that they had to go to the hospital. She healed before her mother so she had to be sent to foster care. They put her with the Murphys, a family that had three little boys, and she didn't like it. Then she went to school and met this mean girl and mean boy and hated her life even more. Then her world started piecing  together and got better. She used to be counting the days she was away from her mom because she missed her. Now she dosn't want to go back to her mom!

Great Books....... Need to Read!

Because of Mr. Terupt by Rob Buyea
Because of Mr. Terupt is a really good book.

It is about a classroom full of kids and fun teacher. There were about ten main students and they each had different personalities. And when you add the fun teacher it becomes a classroom full of chaos. They did lots of different experiments and activities, but then Mr. Terupt let the kids go a little to far. He might not be able to teach again.

Out of My Mind by Sharon Draper is again a really good book.

It is about a girl with disabilities and she is starting 5th grade. Everyone makes fun of her. She can't talk, walk, or eat and go to the bathroom by herself. But she is the smartest in her class, but people thinks she is dumb because she can't express how smart she is. Then her whole life changes because she gets a present.

I think you should read both of these books. Stay tuned for more books.
